Course Outline:
Module 1: Introduction of IT Support
Understanding the role and responsibilities of an IT support technician. Overview of IT components and infrastructure in an office setting.
Module 2: Computer Fundamentals and System Components
Learn about computer fundamentals and history. Classification of Computer Based on Size and Capacity. Differentiate between hardware and software. Learn about computer storage devices and memory types (RAM, ROM, Bit, Byte, Kilobyte, Megabyte, Terabyte).
Module 3: Computer Hardware Fundamentals
Difference between computer hardware and software. Understanding various computer hardware components (CPU, RAM, Motherboard, HDD, etc.). Assembling and disassembling a computer and laptop. Diagnosing basic hardware issues and troubleshooting techniques.
Module 4: BIOS and Boot Processes
Understanding the BIOS, Boot and its functions. Configuring BIOS & Boot settings. Troubleshooting boot-related issues.
Module 5: Operating System Fundamentals
Introduction to various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux). Partitioning and disk management. OS (Windows/Linux) installation, configuration, and updates. User management and permission. Basic settings and troubleshooting OS-related problems.
Module 6: OS Image Backup and Recovery
Importance of OS image backup for disaster recovery. Create OS image backups using tools like Windows Backup, Acronis, Onekey recovery, etc. Restore OS from image backups and troubleshooting backup-related issues. Recover PC data from a corrupted OS. Create a custom OS (windows).
Module 7: Computer Necessary Software
Identify essential software applications for office productivity. Software installation, updates, and management.
Module 8: Microsoft Office Programs
Introduction to Microsoft Office Suite: An overview of the three primary applications - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Understanding document creation, formatting, and editing for professional-looking reports and documents using Microsoft word. Explore features like mail merge, table of contents, and track changes for enhanced document management. Learn data entry, formula writing, and basic functions to organize and analyze data effectively using Microsoft excel. Utilize charts, conditional formatting and filters to gain valuable insights from your data. Create visually engaging slideshows with multimedia, animations, and slide transitions using Microsoft PowerPoint. Develop compelling narratives and deliver impactful presentations with confidence.
Module 9: Data Communication and Networking Fundamentals
Understanding network topologies and architectures. Explore network topologies and connectivity options like LAN, WAN, and MAN. Understanding the role of ports, protocols, and IPv4 addressing in network communication. Understanding OSI layer. IP Addressing and Subnetting. Learn to configure routers, switches, and access points. Describe Networking Tools. Plan and design Small Office Home Office (SOHO) networks. Cabling techniques using network tools, including RJ45 clipping and Cat5/6 connections. Implement IPv4 addressing for devices in a network. Differentiate between static and DHCP IP addressing. Install and use remote software (e.g., TeamViewer, Anydesk, Ultraviewer) for connecting to other computers. Troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
Module 10: Troubleshooting IT Devices
Installing, configuring, and sharing printers, scanners. Troubleshooting common printer and scanner issues.
Module 11: Virtualization with VMware
Explore the fundamentals of virtualization technology and its benefits. Learn how to create and manage virtual machines, including installation, configuration, and resource allocation. Installing OS on the VMware environment and performing backups.
Module 12: MikroTik Router Configuration
Overview of MikroTik routers and their features. Install RouterOS operating system on a VMware environment. Configuring MikroTik routers for small office networks. Learn how to perform essential router configurations, including setting up WAN and LAN interfaces, DHCP, NAT, and Route. Configure Auto failover. Bandwidth management. Backup and Restore.
Module 13: Windows Server Management
Introduction and Installing Windows Server 2016. Creating and managing Active directory users, groups, and organizational units. Creating and linking AD Group Policy. Setting up and configuring FTP server, Managing FTP users and permissions. Configuring DHCP server role for automatic IP address assignment.
Module 14: Deploying IP-PBX Solutions.
Introduction to IP telephony and VoIP protocols. Introduction and install 3cx server on VMware environment. Configure necessary setting like SIP Trunk, Inbound-Outbound Rules, IVR, Office time etc. Configuring IP phones and troubleshooting IP phone connectivity.
Module 15: CCTV Camera Installation and Support
Understanding CCTV camera systems and their components. Overview of maintaining CCTV cameras and DVR.
Module 16: Managing Email and Other Google Services
Understanding necessary Email Settings, Security, and mail backup. Configure popular email clients like Gmail, Thunderbird, and Outlook. Develop skills in efficiently using Google Chrome, Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Forms for collaboration and productivity.
Module 17: Video Conferencing and Streaming
Introduction to video conferencing technologies. Configuration and meeting management with video conferencing tools. (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams). Acquire knowledge about streaming technologies and the devices used for live streaming Learn how to conduct professional live streaming of various programs, ensuring high-quality and engaging broadcasts.
Module 18: Audio and Video System Management
Understanding audio components in a sound system (speakers, amplifiers, mixers, etc.). Setting up sound systems for offices and events. Understanding audio/video cables for sound systems. Setting up and configuring projectors and LED displays. Remote casting technologies (Chromecast, Miracast, etc.) and troubleshooting.
Module 19: Social Media Management
Understanding social media platforms and their importance for organizations. Managing social media pages and groups effectively. Managing social media access and security.
Module 20: Website Management
How to purchase a domain and hosting. Managing domain panel and DNS settings. Configuring Cloudflare settings for improved website performance. Downloading/Backing up websites using cPanel.
Module 21: Review the Course Content
Review of Course Content and Q&A Session. Written exam for skill test.
